The popular photography blog PetaPixel posted a story today from Gizmodo about a huge photo archiving and sharing project sure to get some attention. It seems Steve Lundeen was so impressed by his father-in-laws lifetime photo collection, that he set about doing the laborious task of digitizing photos and sharing via Flickr. Mr. Lundeen is reportedly posting 20 to 30 images from his photo scanning efforts per day and has shared about 50,000 photos to-date. It is unclear whether he has or will consider using a photo scanning service to help with converting photos to digital.

The extent of Nick DeWolf's passion for photography is evident in his collection. During his life Mr. Dewolf founded Teradyne with MIT classmate Alex d'Arbeloff and was rarely without his camera.
