Do you remember the first time you went fishing with your Mom or Dad? Do you recall the first time you were on a boat or ferry? Or how about your first communion? Any kind of event like these probably land into your most treasured moments you want to preserve for the rest of your life.

It is said that Oscar Barnack was the first to use 35mm film in a still camera in 1913. He is sometimes referred to as the grandfather of 35mm photography because of this fact. Positive film makes up a 35mm slide. It is commonly found mounted in plastic or cardboard frames. Slides were commonly used in art classes and to teach art history because of the color accuracy they provided when viewed through a projector. Today, 35mm is still the most popular film used by both professional and amateur photographers because of its convenience, inexpensive pricing structure and the strength of image quality produced.

So you’ve made the decision to digitize photos. You’ve got a plan and a strategy and you’re ready to get this ball rolling. But alas, you need some reinforcement. We don’t blame you – we do the same thing. We usually consult a friend or family member before making a big decision. However, sometimes we find our friends or family members to be a little over bearing, like Fred to Barney from the Flintstones. Fred might think he knows everything but he isn’t always right. Our friends and family mean well but probably aren’t always correct in the advice they’re giving you.

The world as we know it is becoming more and more dependent on digital solutions. We challenge you to find a task that doesn’t involve some kind of technology from the time you wake up to the time you go to sleep. With this in mind, don’t be left behind – digitize your photos. Bring them into the 21^st century with you. People are sharing all aspects of their lives every day and are not worried about grabbing a photo album from their attic or basement to do so. If you’re looking to be a part of this trend there’s only one-way to go – digital. Of course it isn’t all about being trendy – there are endless options that open up for sharing once you digitize photos.

For some of us school may have been over a long time ago (but who’s keeping track?). Regardless of when the last time you were in a classroom, I bet you can recall the subjects you covered and the lessons you learned. Now that you’re older (and much wiser) I bet you will also agree that much of life is like school - you do one task and end up taking away skills that can transfer into other parts of your life.
